Since 1991 Redcord has been characterized by constant innovation and development. There are currently 75 peer – reviewed articles concerning the method which has been shown to be an effective treatment modality in musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction

As of today, Redcord is being used in more than 30 countries worldwide by leading hospitals, universities, sports clubs, and even international Olympic committees. Redcord’s major markets are the United States, Japan, Korea, Germany, Spain, Norway, China, Canada, and Mexico.

Redcord continues to develop new treatment applications and advances in equipment design to ensure professionals and users are provided with the most advanced and effective product in the market.

Below we highlight important dates in the development of Redcord

  • 1991

    Redcord AS is established under the name TrimMaster by Tore, Grete and Petter Planke, the latter of whom had been plagued by repeated acute back problems for over 20 years. The first prototype of today’s device was originally invented and patented by builder and former gymnast Kåre Mosberg. However, after learning of Mosberg’s product, Petter Planke consulted physiotherapists at Sentrum Fysikalske in Asker and contacted Dr. Odd Kogstad at Aust-Agder Sentralsykehus, as he saw the potential for Mosberg’s invention as physical therapy and in-home training equipment for the prevention of back pain and retroactive ailments. To this day, Petter Planke is living proof that the training works: his back is strong and pain-free. Tore Planke has always been responsible for the technical development and the company’s patents.

  • 1992

    First complete year in the training market as TrimMaster. Physiotherapists applaud the possibilities provided by slings as a treatment tool.

    The first export starts.

  • 1993

    The firm changes its name to Nordisk Terapi and the product to TerapiMaster. The focus is more heavily based on the development of equipment and methodology as an effective tool for physical therapy. First study is conducted to examine the effect of home training with TerapiMaster.

  • 1994

    1994 TerapiMaster workstation for physical therapy is introduced, including the sliding bracket.

  • 1996

    Work begins on the development of courses for physiotherapists. Cooperation agreements are signed with external training providers who participate in this development.

  • 1998

    Introduction of the computer program TerapiMaster Praxis for the selection, editing, and printing of personal training. The first computer program with exercises is presented in progressions and protocols.

  • 1999

    Treatment and training Redcord (TerapiMaster) systematizes the concept S-E-T which receives positive reception in the field of physiotherapy. Groups are established that assist in further course and academic development.

  • 2001

    Physiotherapist S-E-T scheme is established to ensure quality and to contribute to further development of S-E-T treatment. Studies with the application of Redcord published including in Spin, and new studies initiated. Effect of suspension therapy shown to be excellent in both the short- and long-term.

  • 2002

    Karl Petter Rødland becomes the company’s CEO.

    SET Competence is established as a separate business unit to ensure the further development of concepts and knowledge dissemination. Program developed for certification of S-E-T trainers in Norway and abroad.

    The first patient with “Neurac-income” (course participant with a shoulder injury since birth) treated by Gitle Kirkesola on a course in Alta.

    Gitle then starts demonstrating how the effect can be achieved in shoulder disorders with “push-up plus” on the S-E-T-depth courses. Creation of subsidiaries in Germany and Sweden.

  • 2003

    Launch of Redcord Trainer with instruction materials for home use. Sale starts through sports shops in Sports 1 and G-Sport stores.

    Principles of neuromuscular training with Redcord is developed gradually for more exercises and body areas. The theme of the seminar for update-SET therapists: Maximal Neuromuscular Recruitment (precursor to Neurac).

  • 2004

    Launch of Redcord Trainer with instruction materials for home use. Sale starts through sports shops in Sports 1 and G-Sport stores. Principles of neuromuscular training with Redcord are gradually developed for more exercises and body areas. The theme of the seminar for update-SET therapists: Maximal Neuromuscular Recruitment (precursor to Neurac). .

  • 2005

    Redcord Clinic establishes Redcord’s first clinic at Lysaker. The clinic’s purpose is to be the company’s center for professional development and training. Redcord Clinic specializes in Neurac treatment of patients with challenging muscle/skeletal pain.

  • 2007

    After two years of development and testing, the patented Redcord Stimula that increases the effectiveness of the Neurac method is launched. Neurac treatment and Redcord Stimula give remarkable results and studies are implemented at universities in several countries. The patented Redcord Mini launches.

  • 2008

    In October, Eirik Lynghaug replaces Karl Rødland as the company’s CEO. The company elects a new board in December.

  • 2009

    The company’s strategic choices and direction are thoroughly reviewed and evaluated. Restructuring of the company is implemented. Neurac article is prepared by Gitle Kirkesola published in the magazine Fysioterapeuten in December.

  • 2010

    Strategic decisión is taken to establish three main segments for communication purposes: Redcord Medical, Redcord Active and Redcord Sport. Development is initiated for custom communications, product packages and courses related to each segment.

    The first study of the Neurac method and Redcord Stimula are prepared by Deborah Fallah and published. The study shows significant positive efficacy of the Neurac method and Redcord Stimula. Second study is initiated in Autumn 2010.

  • 2011

    The company implements a new marketing strategy based on the communication of three segments: Redcord Medical, Redcord Active and Redcord Sport. New website is launched and systematic work with social media is implemented.

    The Course Portfolio for Neurac is revised and updated, and a new training model with new courses is launched. A systematic approach to Neurac testing procedures is integrated into two Neurac courses. New courses for Redcord Active are completed.

    Redcord Stimula is completed with additional features and improvements after four years of continuous product development. Preliminary information from the second study by Deborah Fallah using Neurac method and Redcord Stimula shows positive and significant results.

  • 2012

    2012 Redcord Stimula is re-launched in selected international markets. A cooperation agreement is signed with the Interventional Centre at Rikshospitalet University Hospital and the University of Oslo, Department of Psychology, to investigate the mechanism behind a documented experience of pain relief with the use of Neurac treatment including vibration apparatus Redcord Stimula. The focus is on identifying possible cortical mechanisms behind the improvement.
